The original Photons video on YouTube has an incorrect angle for the vibration of the electron and the resulting photons that are generated. The video cannot be edited without deleting the entire video and re-posting it, so a correction is provided here instead.
Incorrect Photon Angle – YouTube Video
The original angles of the photon in the video appeared like the following. This occurs in a couple of places in the video.
Correct Photon Angle
The correct photon angle should appear like the following. The electron’s vibration is perpendicular to the direction between the electron and the nucleus. Two photons are generated: one leaves the atom and one is absorbed by the nucleus as recoil. Further information is provided in the Photons section of this site.
